Kinora
A calm garden path — representing Kinora's approach

Our Company

Helping families find a quieter path forward

Kinora was founded on the belief that households navigating difficult periods deserve clear information, practical tools, and a calm place to gather their thoughts — without pressure of any kind.

Our Story

How Kinora came to be

Kinora opened its doors in Chiang Mai in 2019, born from a straightforward observation: families going through periods of household change often struggled not because of a shortage of professionals around them, but because they lacked a calm, neutral space to get their thoughts in order first.

Our founders — practitioners with backgrounds in community facilitation and adult education — wanted to fill that gap with something modest and honest. Not advice. Not representation. Just well-structured tools, clear written materials, and a quiet room where a family could think together without being rushed.

From a small workshop space on Loi Kroh Road, Kinora has since helped several hundred families in Chiang Mai and the surrounding region take their first organised steps through complicated household situations. We remain a deliberately small operation so that every family we work with receives our full attention.

Our Mission

What we are here to do

Kinora exists to make the informational and organisational side of household change a little more manageable. We do this by providing families with practical, plain-language tools and a structured space to use them.

We are not lawyers, financial advisers, or counsellors. When a family needs those services, we say so and help them find the right direction. Our role is the step before — or alongside — those formal processes: helping a household understand what it knows, what it has, and how it wants to communicate going forward.

"We want every family that comes through our door to leave with something they can actually hold and use — not just a feeling that they've been heard."

— Kinora founding values statement

How We Work

Standards we hold ourselves to

Clear Scope, Every Time

Before any session begins, we explain clearly what Kinora does and does not do. Families are never left uncertain about the nature of the support they are receiving.

Discretion as Standard

Household information shared with Kinora is used only to prepare and deliver the session or workshop. It is not shared with third parties and is stored securely for no longer than necessary.

No Pressure, No Obligation

Enquiries never carry any obligation. Families may ask questions, attend a session, and decide not to continue at any stage. Our tone and process are designed to make that easy.

Appropriate Referral Practice

When a family's situation clearly calls for legal, financial, or professional guidance, we say so honestly and provide appropriate signposting — we do not try to substitute for those services.

Plain Language Always

Every document, checklist, and written summary we produce is reviewed for clarity before it reaches a family. If something could be said in fewer, simpler words, we say it that way.

Small Groups, Real Attention

Workshops are kept to six participants or fewer. One-to-one sessions are never rushed. This is how we make sure each family's situation is genuinely understood, not just processed.

Background

Family communication support in Chiang Mai

Kinora works with households at moments when clear communication and organised paperwork matter most. Families living in and around Chiang Mai — including many international and mixed-nationality households — often find that the practical, informational side of a household transition receives far less attention than the emotional or legal side. Kinora fills that space.

Our Calm Conversation Toolkit Sessions are designed for households where a structured, supported conversation would help everyone feel more settled before moving forward. The Household Paperwork Sorting Workshop addresses the very common situation where a home's important documents are scattered, unlabelled, or simply unknown to all family members. Our Shared Arrangements & Summary Package brings the two together in a written plan that a whole household can read and refer back to.

We work in English and welcome families from Thailand, from abroad living in Thailand, and from mixed-language households. Chiang Mai's position as a diverse, internationally connected city means that Kinora's services are well-suited to a wide range of household backgrounds and situations. We do not offer services remotely — all sessions take place at our Loi Kroh Road premises so that the setting itself contributes to a sense of calm and privacy.

Kinora's work sits alongside — and never replaces — the services of qualified legal, financial, and family professionals. We encourage every family to seek appropriate formal guidance for matters that require it, and we are glad to help with the preparatory, informational, and organisational steps that make those formal processes easier to navigate.
